ABOUT MALARIA CONSORTIUM

Malaria Consortium is an international non-profit organisation specialising in the prevention, control and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases across Africa and Asia.

JOB SUMMARY

The LGA Field Assistant will support implementation of the SARMAAN II project and Azithromycin Mass Drug Administration activities at LGA level. The position supports planning, implementation, supervision, commodity distribution, monitoring, reporting, data management and coordination with health and community stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support planning and implementation of Azithromycin MDA activities within assigned LGAs.
  • Monitor programme delivery at health-facility, community and household levels.
  • Support last-mile distribution of Azithromycin and programme commodities.
  • Maintain distribution and commodity documentation.
  • Support refresher training of health workers and Community Drug Distributors.
  • Monitor compliance with approved Azithromycin administration protocols.
  • Support Social and Behaviour Change activities.
  • Conduct supportive supervision of programme implementation.
  • Collect, review and submit programme records and reports.
  • Support M&E teams with administrative-coverage and supply-chain data.
  • Maintain communication with LGA authorities, health facilities and community stakeholders.
  • Support reverse logistics after implementation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification in Science, Social Science, Public Health or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant field experience.
  • Experience in commodity management, M&E or logistics.
  • Experience conducting supportive supervision.
  • Fluency in English and Hausa/Fulani or other relevant local languages.
  • Familiarity with KoboCollect, SurveyCTO and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong coordination, documentation, reporting and communication skills.
  • Previous Malaria Consortium or Azithromycin MDA experience is an advantage.

SAFEGUARDING REQUIREMENT

Selected candidates will be required to complete Malaria Consortium’s safeguarding course on Kaya and provide the required safeguarding certificate before engagement.
