IT Systems & Security Manager

ABOUT LAFIYA

Lafiya is a global-health nonprofit working to expand access to contraception in Nigeria through a network of female community-based health professionals.

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Systems & Security Manager will build and manage Lafiya’s internal IT function as the organisation grows. This is a hands-on generalist role covering hardware, cybersecurity, user accounts, software platforms, technical support and systems adoption.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Device & Infrastructure

• Define appropriate device specifications for different staff roles.
• Develop device procurement budgets with Finance and management.
• Source, procure and configure staff and field-worker devices.
• Establish and maintain an asset inventory and replacement cycle.

Cybersecurity

• Lead an organisation-wide assessment of devices, systems and security practices.
• Implement controls including MFA, endpoint protection, password management and access controls.
• Develop controls appropriate to ISO 27001 requirements.
• Draft acceptable-use, device and data-handling policies.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct periodic security-awareness training.

Account & Software Administration

• Manage user accounts and access during onboarding, role changes and offboarding.
• Administer Google Workspace, Slack and other organisational platforms.
• Manage software licences, subscriptions and unused seats.

IT Support & Systems Strategy

• Serve as first point of contact for hardware, software, account and connectivity problems.
• Conduct IT onboarding and device setup for new employees.
• Document common technical problems and solutions.
• Identify and pilot new technology tools.
• Lead rollout, training and adoption of approved systems.
• Support data migration, integrations and platform changes.
• Support field-device management and operational systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree/HND in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or related area, or equivalent practical experience.
• Three to five years’ IT-support or systems-administration experience.
• Experience managing at least 20 Windows and/or Mac devices.
• Google Workspace administration experience.
• Experience managing Slack or similar platforms.
• Recognised cybersecurity certification such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience implementing security controls.
• Cybersecurity risk-assessment, MDM and vendor-management experience are advantages.
• Professional English fluency.
