Job Title: Internal Audit Specialist

ROLE PURPOSE

The Internal Audit Specialist will supervise medium-complexity audits and management-requested reviews across One Acre Fund’s Growth Country Units. The position will strengthen operational controls, support fraud prevention, safeguard financial resources and work with management to resolve audit findings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Audit Planning and Execution

  • Plan and supervise medium-complexity audits and management-requested reviews with limited managerial support.
  • Perform internal-audit tests and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Deliver high-quality reviews in accordance with the organisation’s Internal Audit Methodology.
  • Coordinate team inputs required to complete audit reports and management reports.
  • Resolve audit-plan implementation challenges, including scheduling conflicts and changes in audit priorities.
  • Contribute to internal-audit objectives and key results relating to assigned country programmes.

Audit Findings and Management Follow-Up

  • Take ownership of findings within the assigned responsibility level.
  • Present audit findings clearly to responsible managers and other stakeholders.
  • Work with management to design practical corrective actions and agreed resolutions.
  • Track outstanding findings and follow up regularly until corrective actions are completed.
  • Maintain clear records of management responses, action owners and implementation progress.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The official vacancy does not state a specific degree requirement. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • At least three years of professional audit experience.
  • At least three years of experience using accounting and auditing applications such as SAP and Symbiant.
  • At least three years of experience using data-analytics tools such as Power BI.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing audit findings and professional audit reports.

The contract duration is two years. The position is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Malawi and Burundi. One Acre Fund lists health insurance and paid time off among the benefits.
