JOB SUMMARY

HSDF is seeking a motivated Audit and Compliance Intern to support the retrieval, recording and review of internal processes and documentary evidence, including records maintenance, reporting and clerical functions. This is a paid internship offering practical experience in audit, compliance and accountability within a donor-funded nonprofit environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support audit planning and execution and monitor compliance with donor, organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial records, payment vouchers, reconciliations and coding for accuracy and adequate documentation.
• Help prepare audit working papers, reports and supporting documentation.
• Review bank reconciliations, vehicle logbooks, repairs and fuel consumption.
• Support risk assessment, risk reporting and archiving of audit and compliance documents.
• Collect, analyse and verify data supporting audit findings.
• Assist with internal-control assessments and compliance monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• B.Sc. in Accounting or Banking and Finance, with First Class or Upper Second-Class honours.
• At least 1 year of relevant accounting or audit experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.
• NYSC corps members or prospective corps members serving in Abuja who meet the finance requirements are encouraged to apply.

WORK ARRANGEMENT

Paid internship; onsite in Abuja, Nigeria.
