JOB OVERVIEW
Action Against Hunger is recruiting an ICT Officer in Damaturu, Yobe State. Reporting to the Logistics and Supply Manager, the officer will handle ICT issues and provide basic Information Systems support for the office and sub-bases. Proposed start date: September 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network and user support
- Install and configure office and sub-base network resources.
- Create and manage network folders, user backups and access permissions.
- Support LAN design, network administration and monitoring.
- Coordinate ICT onboarding and offboarding with HR.
- Guide staff on GLPI and basic ICT tools.
- Manage ICT equipment requests, loans, allocations, registers and consumables.
- Support energy-related ICT projects with the ICT Specialist and Roving Energy Officer.
Data security and software
- Back up official data to OneDrive, NAS and scheduled external drives.
- Protect systems with antivirus and updates.
- Install approved user applications and support Information Systems deployment.
- Maintain CCTV systems and back up footage.
Equipment and procurement
- Work with Procurement to verify technical specifications.
- Code, label, configure and install ICT equipment.
- Maintain equipment folders, allocation forms and asset registers.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs and perform inventories.
- Support the Equipment Tracking System.
Communications and subscriptions
- Allocate and record GSM lines, monitor use and report abuse.
- Monitor internet, GSM, satellite and radio services against service agreements.
- Support users and request new lines based on operational need.
User management
- Support ICT projects and conduct staff induction and refresher training.
- Configure email and other platform accounts and maintain user databases.
- Lead day-to-day helpdesk support within reasonable response times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant professional ICT certificates or training.
- At least three years of experience in similar responsibilities.
- NGO or INGO experience is an advantage.
- Strong analysis, reporting, organisation, attention to detail, confidentiality and independent-working skills.
- Strong verbal and written English and ability to work in diverse, multi-site teams.
