PATH is an international nonprofit organisation working to advance health equity through innovation in vaccines, medicines, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health and health-service delivery.

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Business Partner will provide strategic and operational HR support to managers, employees and teams within PATH’s Global Health Programs division.

The position will support leaders operating across different countries, cultures, time zones and donor-funded programmes.

The HR Business Partner will combine strategic workforce advice with hands-on support for employee relations, organisational structure, performance management, leadership development, change management and team effectiveness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HR and Business Strategy

  • Partner with programme and divisional leaders to understand operational priorities.
  • Translate programme priorities into workforce and talent strategies.
  • Support programme start-ups, scale-ups, transitions and close-outs.
  • Ensure HR advice reflects donor-funded programme cycles and changing workforce requirements.
  • Develop people approaches that support culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams.
  • Identify workforce and organisational risks before they significantly affect programme delivery.

Workforce Planning and Organisational Design

  • Advise managers on workforce planning.
  • Support the design of effective team and reporting structures.
  • Provide guidance on role clarity and capability requirements.
  • Support succession planning and leadership continuity.
  • Identify gaps in staffing, performance, morale and team alignment.
  • Escalate complex concerns to senior HR leadership when required.
  • Support leaders during restructuring and organisational change.

Leadership Coaching and Employee Support

  • Coach managers on communication, expectation setting and performance leadership.
  • Prepare managers for sensitive or difficult employee discussions.
  • Support leaders managing cross-cultural workplace challenges.
  • Advise managers on employee relations and performance matters.
  • Promote respectful, inclusive and relationship-centred leadership.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and empathy.

Change Management and Culture

  • Support organisational transitions, restructuring and changes to employee roles.
  • Develop clear and consistent communication during change processes.
  • Promote PATH’s leadership behaviours and organisational culture.
  • Contribute to employee engagement and team-cohesion initiatives.
  • Strengthen resilience and collaboration among multi-country teams.
  • Promote equal partnership and inclusive working practices.

HR Data and Decision Support

  • Analyse workforce trends and employee-experience information.
  • Identify emerging people-related risks and opportunities.
  • Use HR data to support staffing and performance decisions.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to managers.
  • Monitor themes relating to morale, employee wellbeing and team effectiveness.

Collaboration Across HR

  • Connect managers and employees with relevant HR teams.
  • Collaborate with senior HR business partners, regional HR teams, People Operations and Shared Services.
  • Help employees and managers understand HR policies and processes.
  • Simplify complex HR information.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that improve employee experience.
  • Support consistent and timely HR services across different countries.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years of experience in HR advisory, HR business partnering or employee-experience roles.
  • Experience supporting teams working across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Experience in workforce planning, organisational design and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of talent development and employee relations.
  • Experience in global health, international development or donor-funded programmes is an advantage.
