Health Manager – National Position

Malteser International is recruiting a Health Manager to plan, implement and oversee health and nutrition programmes in Maiduguri.

The Health Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring health programmes and ensuring quality healthcare delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and coordinating health and nutrition programme activities.
• Ensuring alignment with donor requirements, budgets and organisational strategies.
• Conducting health-needs assessments.
• Managing data collection and analysing health indicators.
• Preparing internal, donor and programme reports.
• Providing technical guidance on public-health interventions.
• Ensuring compliance with national and international health standards.
• Supervising, mentoring and building the capacity of health personnel.
• Managing staff performance and strengthening teamwork.
• Integrating health with nutrition, food security and WASH interventions.
• Representing the organisation in government, donor and partner meetings.
• Strengthening community engagement and stakeholder relationships.
• Supporting programme development, procurement planning and risk management.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and quality-assurance standards.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing or a related discipline.
• A master’s degree is preferred.
• Five to seven years of health-programme-management experience.
• NGO or humanitarian-sector experience is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, planning, analysis and report-writing skills.
• Good understanding of health systems and public-health principles.
