ABOUT GIRLS EDUCATION MISSION INTERNATIONAL
Girls Education Mission International works to ensure that girls are educated, safe and empowered. Its work promotes inclusive education, protection, leadership, economic empowerment and positive social change.
ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The organisation seeks 10 Online Volunteers to create and promote fundraising content supporting girls’ education and menstrual-hygiene initiatives in Nigeria.
- Engagement: Online volunteering; unpaid and non-contractual
- Number of assignments: 10
- Location: Remote; assignment country is Nigeria
- Duration: Eight weeks
- Time commitment: 11–15 hours weekly
- Recruitment: Competitive
- UNV is not responsible for the host organisation’s selection or collaboration process
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help design and implement a focused digital fundraising campaign.
- Develop content strategy and persuasive messaging for LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Facebook.
- Create storytelling content explaining challenges faced by vulnerable girls in rural Nigeria.
- Show how education and menstrual-hygiene support can improve girls’ lives.
- Share campaign materials through appropriate personal, professional and online networks.
- Increase campaign visibility, engagement and awareness.
- Educate online audiences on the importance of girls’ education and empowerment.
- Volunteers are not required to donate funds or contact third parties on behalf of the organisation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong interest in social impact, girls’ education and community development.
- Fundraising, crowdfunding or digital-advocacy experience or interest is desirable.
- Active presence on social media and confidence creating and sharing content.
- Strong English writing and communication skills.
- Creativity, initiative and ability to engage online communities.

- Successful volunteers receive a certificate of appreciation.
