Position Description & Requirements
OVERVIEW
LEAP Africa is recruiting a Finance Officer to support accurate day-to-day financial operations, donor and statutory compliance, budgeting, reporting, payments, retirements and audits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor funds-requisition processes and support timely disbursement of approved funds.
- Follow up requests and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documents.
- Upload approved payments and KYC documentation on the GAPS platform.
- Process transactions, requisitions and purchase orders on the ERP system.
- Interface with banks on assigned project accounts and daily transactions.
- Support the Finance Coordinator with financial follow-up and proposed solutions.
- Assist with organisational asset-management activities.
- Prepare financial records, schedules, reconciliations and daily, weekly and monthly postings.
- Ensure correct cost allocation and complete documentation for project and operational transactions.
- Support compliance with LIRS, FIRS, SCUML and other regulatory requirements, including tax payments and returns.
- Track and facilitate full retirement of employee cash advances.
- Support budgeting, reporting, audits and transparent use of resources.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or CPA is an advantage.
- Two to three years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
- Experience in funds management, bank relations, financial reporting and compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software and digital payment platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, analytical ability and integrity.
