Position Description & Requirements

OVERVIEW

LEAP Africa is recruiting a Finance Coordinator to support the organisation's financial integrity, accountability and sustainability through effective finance operations, compliance, budgeting and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design, development and implementation of LEAP Africa's finance functions.
  • Prepare annual organisational budgets and monitor project and operational expenditure.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and programme profit-and-loss reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial records on the ERP platform.
  • Manage cash-flow requirements, liquidity, disbursements and supporting documentation.
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations and interface with banks on account matters.
  • Review accounting transactions for compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
  • Strengthen accounting, internal-control, payment, expense, retirement, asset-management and insurance processes.
  • Support audits, donor compliance and cross-functional financial planning.
  • Provide financial insights that support programme and organisational decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA or CPA is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory or coordinator role.
  • Experience in budgeting, cash-flow management, financial reporting and investment-portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting software, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Non-profit or development-sector finance experience is an advantage.
