JOB SUMMARY
The Finance & Admin Associate will support the financial, administrative and operational work of the Katsina office. Working closely with the Finance Officer and programme colleagues, the role will help ensure that transactions are properly processed, supporting documents are complete, records are accurate and office operations run smoothly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the preparation, review, coding and processing of payment vouchers and other financial transactions.
- Check invoices, receipts, approvals and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance before processing.
- Maintain orderly financial files, transaction records and administrative documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Assist with cash, bank, advance and account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
- Support budget monitoring by keeping accurate records and providing timely information to the Finance Officer.
- Help track staff and activity advances and ensure that retirements and supporting documents are submitted correctly.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and logistics support to the state office and programme activities.
- Assist with office supplies, service-provider documentation, travel arrangements, meetings and other operational needs.
- Apply MSH procedures, internal controls and donor requirements consistently.
- Protect confidential financial and personnel information and carry out other related finance or administrative duties assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a closely related field.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in accounting, finance and administration.
- Practical knowledge of bookkeeping, financial documentation, reconciliations and internal controls.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel and other standard office or accounting applications.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and numerical accuracy.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work responsibly with confidential information, meet deadlines and collaborate with programme and operations teams.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit, public-health or donor-funded environment is an advantage where stated by the employer.
