Position Description & Requirements
IMPORTANT NOTICE
This vacancy is intended to create a contingency pool for possible future programme expansion.
Applicants must currently reside in one of the listed Gombe State locations.
ELIGIBLE LOCATIONS
Akko, Balanga, Billiri, Dukku, Funakaye, Gombe, Kaltungo, Kwami, Nafada, Shongom and Yamaltu/Deba.
JOB SUMMARY
Field Officers will work at public clinics to enrol eligible caregivers, facilitate conditional cash transfers and encourage the completion of childhood vaccination schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enrol beneficiaries using approved eligibility criteria.
- Maintain detailed enrolment and cash-management records.
- Coach caregivers to return for their children’s next vaccination.
- Confirm vaccinations are administered and recorded correctly.
- Report vaccine stockouts, runouts and service interruptions.
- Conduct health talks on vaccination benefits and side effects.
- Prevent fraud involving caregivers and health-facility staff.
- Prevent unauthorised enrolment outside clinic catchment areas.
- Document outreach, campaign and immunisation activities.
- Submit daily clinic, cash and field-expense reports.
- Review clinic registers and vaccination documentation.
- Track defaulters while protecting beneficiary information.
- Conduct awareness activities and assigned surveys.
- Identify clinic and community barriers affecting immunisation.
- Maintain relationships with health workers and community stakeholders.
- Report operational, supply-side and security problems.
- Follow all organisational security protocols.
- Complete required training, appraisals and special assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nigerian citizen already living in an eligible Gombe State location.
- Minimum of a National Diploma.
- A bachelor’s degree in Health, Natural Sciences or a related field is preferred.
- Fluency in Hausa and relevant local languages.
- Willingness to travel to remote clinics using public transportation.
- Experience with clinic documentation or the Nigerian health system is desirable.
- Strong attention to cash management and record keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, smartphones and internet tools.
