Position Description & Requirements
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The recruitment is for contingency purposes and may be used to identify candidates for future programme expansion.
Applicants must already reside in an eligible location within Jigawa, Katsina or Zamfara State.
JOB SUMMARY
Field Officers will support New Incentives’ conditional cash-transfer programme at public clinics. The role focuses on beneficiary enrolment, caregiver education, cash management, clinic monitoring and community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enrol eligible caregivers and children.
- Apply programme eligibility criteria correctly.
- Maintain accurate enrolment and cash-disbursement records.
- Explain vaccination schedules and next appointment dates.
- Confirm vaccinations are administered and documented.
- Record vaccine shortages and service interruptions.
- Conduct health talks for caregivers.
- Prevent fraud and duplicate or out-of-area enrolment.
- Submit required immunisation, clinic, cash and expense reports.
- Review clinic registers, child-health cards and tally sheets.
- Engage clinic staff, nonprofit organisations and LGA officials.
- Identify clinic barriers affecting enrolment and immunisation.
- Track caregivers who miss scheduled visits.
- Conduct awareness activities and community surveys.
- Maintain relationships with community leaders, Imams and traditional birth attendants.
- Report supply, fraud and security incidents.
- Follow organisational security requirements.
- Complete training, appraisals and special assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nigerian citizen already residing in Jigawa, Katsina or Zamfara State.
- Minimum of a National Diploma.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Fluency in Hausa and languages spoken in the selected LGA.
- Willingness to work in remote clinics and travel by public transport.
- Experience with health-facility records or routine immunisation is desirable.
- Good cash-management and record-keeping ability.
- Strong communication and digital skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, smartphones and internet applications.
