PATH is recruiting five Field Officers for a project designed to improve routine-immunisation coverage across 16 Local Government Areas in Kebbi State through Mobile Immunisation Teams.

JOB SUMMARY

Each Field Officer will coordinate project activities in an assigned Local Government Area and serve as the main relationship manager for the LGA immunisation team.

The successful candidates will train, supervise and mentor Mobile Immunisation Teams while strengthening coordination with health facilities, communities and government structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate routine-immunisation project activities in an assigned Local Government Area.
  • Serve as the main contact for the LGA immunisation team.
  • Work with primary healthcare coordinators, monitoring officers and community structures.
  • Train Mobile Immunisation Teams on community-based routine-immunisation services.
  • Provide refresher training and on-the-job mentoring.
  • Develop supportive-supervision schedules with health facilities.
  • Supervise Mobile Immunisation Teams using approved national tools and checklists.
  • Monitor service delivery, community engagement and data reporting.
  • Support health facilities to develop and update immunisation microplans.
  • Support outreach planning, session optimisation and defaulter tracking.
  • Strengthen communication between health facilities, Mobile Immunisation Teams and communities.
  • Support follow-up of children who miss immunisation services.
  • Document immunisation refusals and community feedback.
  • Maintain relationships with government personnel, health workers and implementing partners.
  • Coordinate with monitoring, evaluation, learning, advocacy and social-mobilisation teams.
  • Support data validation and the use of routine data for decision-making.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly field updates.
  • Document implementation progress, challenges and corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of supervision visits, training, outreach sessions and vaccine stocks.
  • Monitor vaccine and supply availability.
  • Support redistribution or replenishment of vaccines and supplies when necessary.
  • Work with community leaders and influencers to address vaccine hesitancy and misinformation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Community Health, Social Sciences or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting health-service delivery.
  • Experience in immunisation service delivery is preferred.
  • Experience providing supportive supervision and field-level mentoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with health-facility officials and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting activities and preparing structured reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and public-communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Kebbi State.
