Position: Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Instructor
Employment Type: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY
The EORE Instructor will serve as the technical lead for explosive-ordnance risk-education activities at the assigned LGA or state level.
The position will supervise facilitators and volunteers and ensure activities comply with National Mine Action Standards, approved standard operating procedures and relevant safety requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the assigned Mine Action Team Lead.
- Provide technical oversight for EORE activities.
- Ensure interventions comply with National Mine Action Standards.
- Ensure activities are implemented according to organisational SOPs.
- Promote quality, efficiency and consistency in risk-education activities.
- Provide technical guidance to community facilitators and volunteers.
- Mentor and supervise EORE team members.
- Conduct step-down training and refresher sessions.
- Strengthen the technical capacity of facilitators and volunteers.
Programme Implementation
- Plan and supervise community EORE sessions.
- Ensure sessions use approved messages, materials and methodologies.
- Confirm compliance with safety and quality-assurance procedures.
- Ensure activities target identified high-risk groups.
- Support outreach to children, women, men, farmers, returnees, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable populations.
- Ensure affected and high-risk communities are adequately reached.
- Monitor activity implementation and address identified quality gaps.
- Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly activity records.
- Submit timely technical and operational reports.
Coordination and Representation
- Establish relationships with community leaders, schools and local structures.
- Coordinate with relevant LGA and mine-action stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation during coordination meetings.
- Serve as LGA Mine Action Coordinator when assigned.
- Promote coordination with other risk-education actors.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree or equivalent qualification in Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- Valid Training of Trainers certification.
- At least three years of continuous professional experience in humanitarian mine action.
- Previous experience delivering EORE activities.
- Experience with community mobilisation, facilitation and engagement.
- Experience working with rural and culturally diverse communities.
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles and standards.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong training, facilitation and mentoring skills.
- Ability to supervise community facilitators and volunteers.
- Strong report-writing and documentation ability.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong accountability, professionalism and work ethic.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Fluency in Kanuri, Hausa and relevant local languages.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
