ABOUT KANO INDEPENDENT RESEARCH CENTRE TRUST (KIRCT)
Kano Independent Research Centre Trust is a non-profit biomedical research institution established to support research, scientific development and health-related initiatives in Kano State.
JOB SUMMARY
KIRCT is recruiting two qualified, experienced and safety-conscious Drivers to support the safe and professional transportation of staff, visitors and organisational resources.
The successful candidates will be expected to maintain high standards of road safety, professionalism, confidentiality and care of assigned vehicles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely transport KIRCT staff, visitors and authorised passengers to approved destinations.
- Transport organisational materials, documents and other approved resources as required.
- Operate assigned vehicles in accordance with Nigerian road traffic regulations.
- Maintain a strong safety culture while carrying out official journeys.
- Conduct routine checks of assigned vehicles before and after trips.
- Ensure vehicles remain clean, presentable and in safe operating condition.
- Report faults, damage, accidents or maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow authorised travel routes and organisational transport procedures.
- Maintain proper records of official journeys where required.
- Safeguard vehicle keys, documents, equipment and other assigned organisational property.
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with staff, visitors and external stakeholders.
- Support transport and logistical requirements during organisational activities and programmes.
- Carry out other driving-related responsibilities assigned by the organisation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Valid Nigerian driver’s licence.
- Demonstrable professional driving experience.
- Experience driving official or organisational vehicles is required.
- Strong road-safety record.
- Good knowledge of Kano State roads and surrounding routes is an advantage.
- Ability to operate vehicles responsibly and professionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
