JOB DESCRIPTION SNIPPET:
Action Against Hunger is seeking a Deputy Programme Manager – Nutrition and Health to support nutrition and health programme implementation, capacity building, health systems strengthening, referrals and coordination in Sokoto State.

Action Against Hunger Nigeria implements multi-sectoral humanitarian and development interventions across Northeast and Northwest Nigeria.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Deputy Programme Manager will contribute to the successful implementation of nutrition and health programmes in Sokoto State while providing capacity building to Nutrition and Health Officers, LGA primary healthcare teams and health facility staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Conduct assessments and mapping of nutrition and health services and identify gaps within targeted Local Government Areas and health facilities.
2.Support the implementation and oversight of nutrition and health programme activities across supported locations.
3.Provide technical support and capacity building to Nutrition and Health Officers, LGA PHC teams and health facility staff.
4.Support nutrition and health sensitization, counselling, active case finding, integration and referral activities.
5.Strengthen linkages between health, nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and WASH interventions.
6.Engage with Ministry of Health personnel, implementing partners, NGOs and INGOs to strengthen programme coordination.
7.Support health systems strengthening and development of individual and institutional capacity.
8.Contribute to programme monitoring, quality assurance, reporting and learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Health Systems, Health Economics, Health Policy or a related field.
2.At least 3 years of experience in primary healthcare systems, CMAM and IYCF.
3.Good understanding of health systems strengthening.
4.Demonstrated knowledge of primary healthcare and nutrition services in Nigeria.
5.Previous experience at coordination level.
6.Ability to develop effective working relationships with government personnel, implementing partners, NGOs and INGOs.
7.Demonstrated ability to develop individual and institutional capacity.
8.Fluency in Hausa and English.
