Data Entry Operator

The Alliance for International Medical Action is recruiting a Data Entry Operator to support the accurate entry and management of medical and programme information.

The selected candidate will ensure that medical records are entered into the mission database according to ALIMA procedures while maintaining data accuracy, reliability, security and confidentiality.

Main Responsibilities

Enter patient and medical information into the approved mission database.

Record information such as patient details, dates of visits, prescriptions, test results and other relevant medical data.

Compile data received from ALIMA-supported structures and collaborating health facilities.

Follow up and search for missing or incomplete information.

Update existing patient records and correct identified errors.

Conduct regular backups of processed data.

Protect patient files and maintain an organised and secure data-recording area.

Take proper care of computers and other equipment provided for the assignment.

Report data-management problems to the appropriate supervisor.

Prepare basic statistical reports when requested by the medical team.

Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and programme information.

Support the availability of accurate and current information for medical and programme decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or OND in Statistics, Laboratory Technology or a related field.

At least one year of practical data-entry experience.

Previous experience with an NGO is desirable.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Ability to learn and use EpiData, EpiInfo, DHIS or similar health-data software.

Knowledge of medical or health statistics databases is an advantage.

English proficiency is required.

Knowledge of a relevant local language is desirable.

Strong attention to detail, flexibility, commitment and ability to manage pressure.
