Data Analyst – Health Statistics

JOB SUMMARY

The Health Statistics Data Analyst will organise and analyse healthcare and public-health datasets and convert complex data into understandable information that supports healthcare management and decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compile and organise public-health and healthcare datasets.
• Analyse data to improve health-management decisions.
• Understand and apply appropriate data-storage and data-sharing methods.
• Investigate datasets for patterns, anomalies and trends.
• Understand healthcare-business and operational requirements.
• Use information from different data sources to conduct analysis.
• Convert complex analytical outputs into understandable information.
• Develop reports, presentations and data visualisations.
• Communicate analytical insights to management and leadership.
• Maintain data quality and support proper database management.
• Work with electronic medical records and health-data systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Healthcare Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree is advantageous.
• At least one year of experience in an analytical role.
• Strong knowledge of statistical techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL or another relevant database-query language.
• Experience using data-visualisation tools.
• Knowledge of data-management applications.
• Experience working with electronic medical records.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal ability.
