ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
ALX Africa is a nonprofit organization under the ALX Foundation working to bridge Africa’s digital-skills gap through technology training and career-acceleration programmes. The organization aims to equip two million Africans for sustainable technology careers by 2030.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Corporate Sales and Partnerships Specialist will drive ALX Nigeria’s revenue growth through corporate sales, strategic partnerships and business-development initiatives. The specialist will build and convert opportunities involving corporate training, workforce development, government and institutional partnerships, ecosystem collaborations, sponsorships and funded programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and manage a sales and partnership pipeline involving corporate, government and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Generate revenue through corporate-training sales, outbound prospecting, pitching and closing programmes.
- Support the relaunch and growth of ALX Nigeria’s corporate-training function.
- Develop partnerships with companies, government institutions, development organizations, NGOs and ecosystem partners.
- Identify and secure sponsorships, grants and other funding opportunities.
- Manage opportunities from sourcing and stakeholder engagement through proposal development, negotiation and closing.
- Collaborate with Growth, Community and Programmes teams.
- Maintain partner relationships and promote repeat engagements.
- Track deal value, conversion rates, revenue and partnership performance.
- Identify new market opportunities and improve sales strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Five to seven years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships or commercial roles.
- Proven experience generating revenue and closing commercial deals.
- Strong corporate-sales, business-to-business partnership or institutional-engagement experience.
- Experience in education, educational technology, workforce development or training solutions is desirable.
- Experience engaging government or development-sector partners is desirable.
- Fundraising, grant-writing and sponsorship-acquisition experience is desirable.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Relationship building and stakeholder management.
- Sales-pipeline management and target tracking.
- Proposal development, negotiation and deal closing.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Google Slides or PowerPoint, Google Sheets or Excel and Google Docs.

- CRM and sales-tool familiarity is desirable.
