Position Description & Requirements
ABOUT THE ROLE
ALIMA is recruiting five Community Mobilizers to support community engagement, referral, screening and follow-up activities in Kaita LGA, Katsina State. The position supports access to outpatient therapeutic programme and mobile-clinic services while strengthening accountability to affected communities.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
- Contract type: Fixed-term contract
- Contract duration: Three months, with possible renewal
- Number of positions: Five
- Duty station: Kaita LGA, Katsina State
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support implementation of the community engagement strategy across the ten operational zones and maintain updated community mapping.
- Mobilise eligible children and caregivers for OTP, mobile-clinic, nutrition-screening and Family MUAC activities.
- Identify and refer children, pregnant and lactating women and other community members requiring health or nutrition services.
- Maintain functional linkages between communities, health facilities and ALIMA-supported services.
- Supervise, coach and follow up community volunteers and community volunteer focal persons.
- Trace missed visits and high-risk cases within 24 hours, and standard missed visits within 48 hours.
- Monitor the integrity and appropriate use of RUTF and other programme supplies and promptly escalate suspected diversion, misuse or irregularities.
- Receive community complaints and feedback and support accountability, PSEA and safeguarding processes.
- Maintain accurate activity records, referral information and community follow-up documentation.
- Submit weekly alerts and activity updates and support routine monitoring, evaluation and programme scorecards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Secondary-school education is essential.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, social work, behavioural sciences, public health, community health, nursing or nutrition is desirable.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant community-mobilisation or humanitarian experience.
- Hausa language is essential, with working proficiency in English.
- Ability to communicate respectfully with communities and work effectively with volunteers and health teams.
