ABOUT CENSCOPE
CENSCOPE is a national non-profit organisation headquartered in Maiduguri. With Malala Fund support, it is implementing a three-year Gender-Responsive Education Budgeting project in Borno State.
POSITION DETAILS
- Employment type: Full-time, onsite

ROLE PURPOSE
Lead community mobilisation, social-norms engagement and coalition-building, serving as the link between CENSCOPE, communities, traditional and religious leaders and government stakeholders in support of financing for girls’ re-entry into education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead stakeholder mapping across state institutions and conduct listening and learning meetings with decision-makers.
- Drive community sensitisation with traditional and religious leaders across the seven target LGAs and identify community champions.
- Coordinate the multi-stakeholder GREB coalition toward a signed MoU and quarterly coordination meetings.
- Support recruitment and training of community budget monitors, particularly young women, during the monitoring phase.
- Apply ethical storytelling and survivor-centred communication in all community engagement.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Communications or a related field.
- At least three years of community-mobilisation or advocacy experience in conflict-affected Northeast Nigeria.
- Strong networks with government, traditional and religious stakeholders in Borno State.
- Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri, with working proficiency in English.
DESIRABLE
- Experience in girls’ education, gender or budget/policy advocacy.
- Coalition-building and multi-stakeholder facilitation experience.
