Position Description & Requirements
GRENCHI is hiring a Community Engagement and Advocacy Officer to build trusted relationships with communities, schools, farmer groups, government institutions, civil-society organisations and traditional leaders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead community entry, mobilisation, consultation and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate participation in planting exercises, trainings, workshops and environmental events.
- Serve as a focal point for community questions, feedback and complaints.
- Engage ministries, local governments, institutions and community-based organisations to support programme delivery.
- Conduct community surveys, needs assessments and satisfaction checks.
- Maintain accurate engagement, attendance and stakeholder records.
- Support field implementation, monitoring and grassroots advocacy.
- Translate community evidence and concerns into credible advocacy messages and follow-up actions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc or MSc in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Public Administration, Development Studies or a related field.
- Two to four years of practical experience in community mobilisation, outreach, advocacy or field-extension work.
- Fluency in English and Igbo is required.
- Understanding of environmental and climate policy and Anambra State government structures.
- Strong facilitation, public-speaking, stakeholder-management and report-writing skills.
