Climate Finance Senior Advisor – Retainer

JOB SUMMARY

UNOPS seeks a Climate Finance Senior Advisor on a home-based retainer arrangement. The IICA-4/ICS-12 assignment is expected to run for one year and will support UNOPS in identifying, developing and advancing climate-finance opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and assess strategic climate-finance opportunities.
• Advise on the development and structuring of climate programmes and investment concepts.
• Support engagement with governments, international climate funds, development finance institutions, donors and private-sector partners.
• Review technical and financial concepts and strengthen the quality of funding proposals.
• Provide senior-level advice on blended finance, climate investment and resource mobilization.
• Contribute to institutional learning and the development of UNOPS climate-finance capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Senior-level expertise in climate finance, sustainable finance or climate-related investment.
• Strong understanding of international climate funds, development finance and blended-finance approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to develop financing strategies and engage senior institutional stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, advisory, communication and proposal-development skills.
