Future Resilience and Development Foundation is a Nigerian nonprofit organisation supporting vulnerable and conflict-affected populations through humanitarian, early-recovery and development programmes.

Background
FRAD Foundation is implementing a humanitarian project supporting vulnerable children and families in Borno State.
A major component of the project is child-protection case management, ensuring that children at risk or survivors of abuse, exploitation or neglect receive safe, confidential and timely assistance.
The project focuses on:
Case management for children at risk.
Psychosocial support and psychological first aid.
Family tracing and reunification support.
Referrals to appropriate services.
Community awareness of child protection, child rights and safeguarding.
Coordination with schools, health facilities, local authorities and specialised protection actors.
FRAD Foundation is recruiting three Child Protection Case Management Assistants, with one position in each of Bama, Ngala and Gwoza LGAs.

Purpose of the Position
The Child Protection Case Management Assistant will provide quality and child-centred case-management services.
The assistant will ensure compliance with child-safeguarding and protection standards and help strengthen community-based support mechanisms for vulnerable children.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Protection Officer to implement project activities in accordance with organisational policies, donor requirements and humanitarian standards.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management and Child Support
The assistant will:
Identify and support children at risk or survivors of abuse, exploitation or neglect.
Provide psychological first aid where appropriate.
Support family tracing and safe referrals.
Conduct child-protection needs and risk assessments.
Develop individualised care plans with children and caregivers.
Maintain confidential and accurate case records.
Follow up on case plans and service referrals.
Ensure the safe and ethical handling of sensitive information.
Apply the best-interests-of-the-child principle.
Respect children’s dignity, views, privacy and participation rights.
Support safe case closure in line with approved procedures.
Use CPIMS+ or other approved case-management systems.
Community Engagement and Child-Protection Awareness
The assistant will:
Conduct community-awareness sessions on child protection, child rights and safeguarding.
Work with community structures, schools, youth groups and parent groups.
Support the identification of vulnerable and at-risk children.
Strengthen community referral and reporting pathways.
Promote referrals for health, education, psychosocial, livelihood and protection services.
Support community-based child-protection mechanisms.
Promote the safe participation of children in activities.
Ensure that activities do not expose children to stigma, retaliation or additional harm.
Coordination and Stakeholder Liaison
The assistant will:
Liaise with local authorities and child-protection committees.
Coordinate with schools, health facilities and psychosocial-support providers.
Work with humanitarian organisations and specialised service providers.
Participate in child-protection coordination meetings and cluster discussions.
Support the integration of child-protection and safeguarding standards across project activities.
Maintain updated referral information.
Communicate service gaps and emerging concerns to the Protection Officer.
Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation
The assistant will:
Maintain accurate and confidential case files.
Document trends, protection issues, referrals and case outcomes.
Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
Contribute to internal and donor reports.
Support the documentation of lessons learned, good practices and case studies.
Ensure that reports do not reveal children’s identities.
Store case-management information securely.
Follow FRAD Foundation’s data-protection and information-sharing procedures.
Capacity Building
The assistant will:
Support the training and mentoring of community volunteers and project staff.
Build awareness of child-protection case-management procedures.
Promote child-safeguarding principles among teams and partners.
Support community structures to identify concerns and provide safe referrals.
Participate in technical supervision, coaching and case-review meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
A bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education or another relevant discipline.
At least three years of experience in child protection or case management.
Previous experience in humanitarian or development programming.
Proven experience working with vulnerable children and at-risk families.
Experience using CPIMS+ or a similar child-protection case-management database.
Knowledge of the context, culture and challenges in Bama, Ngala or Gwoza LGA.
Strong understanding of child-protection standards, safeguarding and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently in challenging and remote environments.
Experience working in Northeast Nigeria will be an advantage.
Familiarity with referral systems for health, education, psychosocial and protection services.
Knowledge of gender inclusion, protection mainstreaming and community-based protection mechanisms.
