Bridge for Women Development Initiative (formerly Borno Women Development Initiative – BOWDI) is a non-governmental organization committed to supporting women, girls, and vulnerable communities through humanitarian and development interventions, with a focus on protection, gender equality, and psychosocial well-being.

BOWDI is seeking compassionate, qualified, and dedicated Caseworkers/Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officers to provide case management and psychosocial support services to vulnerable individuals and communities across its operational locations.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Caseworker/Psychosocial Support (PSS) Officer will provide case management and psychosocial support services to vulnerable individuals and communities, with particular attention to women, girls, children, survivors of GBV, and other at-risk populations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Identify and provide case management support to vulnerable individuals, including women, girls, children, and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).
2.Conduct safe, confidential, and survivor-centered intake and assessment of cases.
3.Develop and implement individualized case action plans based on identified needs.
4.Provide basic psychosocial support and emotional assistance to individuals experiencing distress.
5.Identify and facilitate referrals to specialized services, including health, legal, protection, and mental health services, using established referral pathways.
6.Conduct individual and group psychosocial support sessions and community-based awareness activities.
7.Ensure proper documentation, secure case file management, and timely reporting in line with confidentiality and data protection standards.
8.Follow up on cases and monitor progress toward agreed case management objectives.
9.Support community sensitization on protection, mental health, psychosocial well-being, and available support services.
10.Work closely with community structures, service providers, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen referral systems.
11.Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, informed consent, and the do-no-harm principles in all interventions.
12.Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and capacity-building activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.Diploma or bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counselling, Development Studies, or a related field.
2.At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in case management, psychosocial support, protection, or humanitarian programming.
3.Experience working with survivors of GBV and other vulnerable populations is an advantage.
4.Knowledge of case management principles, psychological first aid (PFA), and basic psychosocial support approaches.
5.Understanding of protection principles, confidentiality, safeguarding, and referral mechanisms.
6.Strong communication, counselling, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
7.Fluency in English and relevant local languages spoken in the assigned location.
8.Ability to work effectively in challenging field environments and engage with diverse communities.
