Position Description & Requirements
JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Officer supports monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting for public-health interventions, including mass drug administration, trachoma impact surveys and vitamin A supplementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support development and use of M&E frameworks, indicators, data-collection tools and reporting templates.
- Maintain programme databases and assist with data collection, entry, cleaning, validation, analysis and secure storage.
- Conduct data-quality assessments, spot checks and supportive field supervision.
- Monitor MDA, TAS, VAS and related activities and document implementation quality, reach and gaps.
- Produce accurate tables, summaries and evidence for donor, government and internal reports.
- Contribute to success stories, learning products and presentation of results.
- Train and support state and LGA M&E officers, health workers and other data personnel.
- Promote routine use of data for planning, review meetings, corrective action and programme improvement.
- Support approved surveys, assessments and operational research.
- Coordinate with government and partner stakeholders and track relevant workplan activities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Demography or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant M&E experience, preferably in neglected tropical diseases or public health.
- Experience with electronic data systems such as SurveyCTO, DHIS2, ODK, KoboToolbox or CommCare.
- Ability to analyse data using Excel and at least one statistical package such as SPSS or STATA.
- Experience developing tools, facilitating training and writing clear reports.
- Experience in HIV/AIDS, nutrition or NTD programmes is an advantage.

- Maintain complete, auditable records and comply with Helen Keller International policies, donor rules, safeguarding requirements, confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Work collaboratively with government counterparts, colleagues, partners and communities and report risks or irregularities promptly.
