POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinate the implementation and expansion of the Africa Fish & Aquaculture Welfare (AFIWEL) Programme across priority Nigerian states. The role translates fish-welfare guidelines and responsible-aquaculture frameworks into practical government, farmer and farm-level activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate workplans, timelines, field implementation and stakeholder commitments; engage government institutions, farmers, producer organisations and private-sector actors; organise training and capacity strengthening; support digital farm records, monitoring, research and learning; supervise assigned programme and field personnel; maintain programme trackers, reports and budget oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Marine/Aquatic Sciences, Agriculture, One Health, Development Studies or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage. At least seven years of relevant professional experience in aquaculture, fisheries, animal health/welfare, agricultural development, food systems or related programmes. Strong programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting and digital skills are required. Applicants must be willing to travel regularly within Nigeria.
