Position Description & Requirements
Save the Children is recruiting an Advocacy and Campaign Coordinator to manage advocacy and campaign activities under an EU-funded education project in Jigawa State.
The role will promote safe, inclusive and uninterrupted education, particularly for girls and out-of-school children.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop state, LGA and community-level advocacy and campaign plans.
- Lead engagement on Universal Basic Education and education-policy reform.
- Coordinate the out-of-school-children campaign strategy.
- Build project-team and civil-society capacity to integrate advocacy into programming.
- Track advocacy results in collaboration with the MEAL team.
- Prepare workplans, budgets, donor reports, policy briefs and campaign materials.
- Strengthen relationships with government, education actors, civil society and community stakeholders.
- Promote child participation in campaign activities.
- Develop stories, case studies, messages and communication materials.
- Organise symposiums, trainings, seminars, webinars and conferences.
- Promote Save the Children visibility while complying with branding and safeguarding standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work, Development Economics, Education, Public Policy, Human Rights Law, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certification is desirable.
- At least five years of post-NYSC education or development-advocacy experience.
- Excellent English and good Hausa.
- Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s education and governance systems.
- Ability to prepare policy briefs, position papers and strategic advocacy plans.
- Strong project-management, networking, negotiation and facilitation skills.
This is a full-time Grade 3 position with an initial one-year contract and possible extension. Level 3 child-safeguarding requirements apply
